Often times the newness that we seek in our lives can only be obtained by opening ourselves up to refreshing. Much like the creation of a fresh loaf of bread, there is preparation involved in order to bring it to completion. There is the mixing of specific ingredients in proper porportion, the kneading of dough, the shaping and forming, and the waiting time required for it to rise before it can be baked. If we misappropriate the ingredients, combine poor ingredients, or include old leaven, it may never rise and be fulfilling.
Everybody wants to have a Happy New Year, and many people will make New Year resolutions that are in one old thought and out the next old thought. Rather than making a declaration based on old thinking, old decisions, old behaviors, and old ways of doing things; what if we took some time to take an indepth analyzation of what we may be missing? What if we took the time to gain some introspection of our own preparations, mixing, kneading, shaping and rising?
George Arliss once said; Humility is the only true wisdom by which we prepare our minds for all the possible changes of life. Think about that for a minute. If you want to have a happy new year, the first ingredient is humility. Dwell on this quote by Joseph. J. Lamb; The road to success leads through the valley of humility, and the path is up the ladder of patience, and across the wide barren plains of perseverance. As yet, no short cut has been discovered. It makes sense, don't it? There is a process that we must go through in our own preparation. We can't take short cuts, expect to pass go, collect $200, and then conceive success. Women don't say I want to have a baby, and then become pregnant, and have a baby all in the same day. It's a process in which you may go through some birthing pains in order to have a happy new year.
Are you paying attention? How much does that cost you? How much will it cost if you don't pay attention? We often get stuck in old habits, old beliefs, poor programming, and auto pilot thinking that says that opportunity will never come to us. Well it won't, if you get locked into those kind of thinking behaviors, (old leaven), because you won't RISE up and seek the opportunities that are available on a daily basis. Yeah, first we need to clear out the old ingredients of doubt and the related fears that stem from uncertainty. Our first outlook to have a happy new year is an "in look", this is where we will change our perspectives.
Where do those derailing defeated thoughts come from? From our pasts! By the time we have become adults we have heard the word NO millions of times, yet we have only heard the affirming YES in the ten thousands. We got the "NO YOU CAN'T DO IT PROGRAMMING" in our depths, and we need to realize it so that when those negative thoughts come up, we can associate it to the course correcting our parents did in order to raise us up in a manner that would prevent us from getting hit by a bus. Sometimes we are blind to the things within us that are holding us at bay.
Other times we are so used to looking at the lies, (since our conception), that we are oblivious to the truth. We have society, culture, politicians, stars, businesses, and media infecting us with lies, illusions, misconceptions, and erroneous beliefs every day of our lives. It is so familiar to us that we have bought into it without even realizing it. Have you taken a look at how we are all being poisoned gradually? Look at the commercials on TV, years ago you would not have seen women walking on TV with provocative underwear. The young women of today are being programmed to think that it's all about their looks, that will only leave them shallow minded and eventually feeling less significant about themselves. We are all far more complex than that! To associate our entire being on our looks steals away our personal value. We all have talents, abilities, and gifts that make us who we are, it goes far beyond our attire and the size of our genitals. We need to start thinking for ourselves and stop allowing others to keep us simple minded.
There comes a time when we get tired of the same old, same old. We need to input some fresh ideals based on truths into our minds so that we can see how we are going to have a happy new year. Don't be so open minded that your brains are coming out of your head, but instead seek the wisdom of God. The newness you desire will come through the source of all creation. Opportunities are going to manifest before you, but you will not see them without the ability to discern them. Some things may look good in outward appearances, but beneath are full of deceit and malignant motivations. In order to have a happy new year , you will need to be able to see beyond the surface layers that often look to confuse you. The best things are worth waiting for, we need to say no to the things that may taste good, but are poison to our minds and souls.
Proverbs is the book of wisdom in the bible, it will enlighten you each time you read it. It speaks truth and it will bless your mind. As it says in Proverbs 4:7; Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. When you decide to pay attention you will be rewarded as well as protected. You will become aware of how some of the things inside of you are self destructive, and with that recognition and understanding, you will start the new year with different thoughts and thus have different outcomes. Take heed of what you listen to! "Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert (Isaiah 43:19). Can you hear me now? Have A Happy New Year!
