Happiness is a choice, your mental attitude and thinking behaviors will greatly effect your relationships. Every one of us has within us an area of undiscovered character. Blessed is the one who acts the Sherlock Holmes of his own soul. Many people are waiting around expecting others to bring them happiness. Happiness can be enhanced by others, but it is not dependant upon them. Too many people get up in the morning with doom and gloom attitudes expecting problems to manifest, so they do. Numerous people are already defeated in their minds before they even attempt to initiate anything. A pessimist is always able to see the dark side of anything and everything. For our own health and the health of our relationships, we need to be aware of our own inner attitudes and our true abilities.
We all have a choice switch within us, that switch on one side is negative, the other side is positive. We are capable of making a decision to change the polarity of a light switch on the wall to turn a light on. We can also make the same choice in our thinking behaviors to turn off the darkness and break out into the light. You do not have to accept the deficient thoughts that come into your mind or the negative thought patterns of other people. You are capable of filtering out and rejecting poor thought mannerisms. The sky is not falling, it’s not going to rain on your parade.
Some may say it’s just not that easy to change, and if you are thinking that, it is good. In order for you to be strong, you must first admit your weakness. Life can be hard sometimes, we all go through travail, times of disappointment, adversity, and discouragement. It’s in the times of difficulty that we need to dig deep and access our fortitude. When the thought comes that it’s never going to work out, you can let it overcome and consume you, or you can flick the switch knowing that within every setback, there is a multiplying seed of comeback. The tribulation in your life is not making or breaking you, it is endeavoring to reveal you. The principle battle is not on the outside, it’s in the inside. You will not be low in your spirit if you know that Gods grace is sufficient for you.
Some of you need to launch a new set of thinking patterns where you learn how to turn those thoughts around. You can begin with the little things and quit allowing lack thoughts and doubtful thinking to control your life. If someone says to you that your not good enough or not talented enough for something, flick the switch. Don’t accept that darkness in your life or in your mind, shift the gear and press forward knowing that if God is for you, then no one can be against you. Don’t allow thoughts of failure to stop you from breaking through into your intended destination. Never accept the lies that come and tell you that you can not make it, do not allow those thoughts to steal your enthusiasm. You are never without if God is within. If you stop and do some thinking right now, can you remember some of the difficulties you have persevered through? Do you remember how you came through without even a hair missing from your head? Have there been happenings that you where cursing that turned out to be blessings later on? Stop letting problems and outwardly apparent circumstances intimidate you, turn it around and talk back to the problem with positive words of faith. Change your thinking behaviors and you will drastically change your outcomes.
If your spouse is down, turn it around, speak words of affirmation and encouragement. Help them transition from their current thinking pattern to a positive outlook filled with hope. You can stop looking at what appears to be happening to you and start looking at what is happening for you, everything is possible for him who believes. Now I urge you to keep up your courage, you are capable, you are well able, you have can do power, you are an overcomer, you are blessed with the fullness of life and that is much to rejoice in. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways…Psalm 91:11
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is fair, whatever is pure, whatever is acceptable, whatever is commendable, if there is anything of excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy keep thinking about these things. Philippians 4:8
